In an attempt to wind my Hi Los down to raise the car, we have realised that the half a turn and we are at full lock. So, investigating, it looks like the rubbers cones are knackered and need replacing. Question for the experts is: My mini has a 1500ohc motor, so a little bit more weight over the wheels. So, what cones do you recommend? Should I maybe run heavy duty cones up front to take the weight better? Or standard cones should be sturdy enough? Also, where is the beat place to buy cones to avoid getting a rubbish product? |

You could try the Moulton Smooth-a-ride front cones from minisport in the UK. They're taller than standard cones and give a little less choppy ride. With the extra weight they may be a bit more compressed than standard ones but their extra height should help. Tim |

What is the weight difference in the 1500? and secondly what do you weigh? You could upgrade to competition cones which are firmer but I'd say new std cones would do the job alright. Also may need to look at better shocks to help smooth the ride with the extra weight bouncing around up front. |

Not sure what the engine/ gearbox weight difference is to be honest. I only weigh 80ish kg, so not much weight compensation need for my body weight. I thought just new standard ones might be good enough, but just wanted some reassurance. |
