Guys the East Coast Challenge is over for QLD, in fact the last race of the year is on this weekend at Winton. We had a meeting last week re the upcoming year and I have something pretty special to leak out. The first round will be scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of April with practice on the Friday. All 4 mini car clubs have been invited to put on a show. Something along the lines of London to Brighton which is a multi club event. The idea was formed last year and now we have a date and a go ahead from the organisers. Mini Owners Club QLD, QLD mini car club, Mini Cooper Register and Club MINI have all been invited to put on a display at Lakeside. This will be the first of its kind in Aus and stands to be a great event, with no one club dominating or claiming ownership of the event. I am currently pushing for FREE entry into lakeside for all people in minis, as they hope to pick up the sales value in food and drinks. There will be no trade stalls allowed at this stage, but as details come through if this changes I will let people know.

There will be on-track time at lunch like was allowed last year, which equated to half an hour of people flogging their road cars around the historic Lakeside track for free. John Tettley the manager of Lakeside Park is right behind the event and mixed with the weekend of racing should prove to be an awesome day or weekend out. Details will follow and I will put it up in the Events section. Just thought I would wet everyones appetite
