What's everyone's thoughts about running hs2 1.25 Su's on a 1310 or should you go a bigger twin carby setup?

There is a mini around the corner from me that runs twin 1.25" HS2s. Probably a bit on the small side IMO as it needs yellow springs to hold the dashpots down for enough fuel to flow through. They work though so don't let that stop you if you already have a set.

I ran a pair of twin 1.25s on a 1310 and made the change for a pair of 1.5s nearly two years ago. The change was significant, and I really recommend the option if you have the chance. I have a RE13 fitted with a moderate amount of modifications to the head, so it was probably more about matching the abilities of the exhaust, head and cam to the carbs than anything else.

It depends on the rest of the engine spec. The carb size relates to the engine output rather than cc. In his book, DV provides a table that shows the optimum carb size for pretty much the full range of A Series outputs...

Hi Mick,
How do you find the Re13 cam what it's like, engine spec
Thanks John

There is a similar graph here, it suggests above 75hp to consider upsizing to twin 1 1/2" (or even a single 1 3/4").

There's been plenty of conversations over the years on this cam. Its been good to me personally, but it depends what you want from your engine. Have a bit of a read through these threads.

If you ran a 1.25 twin Su setup with a stage two manifold extractors I'm guessing it won't have much performance. I'm eventually going to efi it with a single hif44 setup
