After reading all the great info on "show Us your Fuel pump set up" viewtopic.php?f=2&t=90970 had me thinking on giving it a go on a mini im playing with at the moment.
Is there any how to on this regarding wiring up the power and what do you do with the mechanical fuel pump once the electronic one is in?

You can buy (or make) a blank to go over the hole

My mini still has it installed just bent up the end where the fuel goes in but it was done like that before I got the car.
Not sure where to tap into to get power to the pump as my loom is so neat in flex its hard to trace and I want to give it a go on a 76 Leyland im working on now for a mate of mine in Nowra.

We tend to use the left hand indicator more here in the south coast.....

all jokes aside is the anywhere I can tap into the remote wire in the back of the mini or do I have to run a new one to the front of the car ?

nah, run a new wire -

to match the standard Lucas wiring configuration, use a white wire from the ignition switched fuse terminal. It'll have green wires on one side that go to things like the fuel gauge, windscreen wiper switch etc, and white wires that go to the ignition switch (the +'ve feed) and the coil. The standard is white wires are ignition switched and unfused, the green wires are ignition switched and fused

Mine is powered from the brake light switch. Just used a male piggy back connector and ran the wire under the carpet. The wire exits the car under the back seat.

A correctly protected wire could also follow the path of the fuel pipe beneath the car (if it has hydro protector plates it could be within the lh one). Cheers.

Yep that's how I did mine, as it has the cover plates. On an early car (Barney) I ran it under the carpet.
