Decided to give the car an oil change, as its done nearly 150 kilometres on this oil and its been 6 months since the last change, dumped the oil and repaired the washer but when I tried to remove the oil filter, the fun started. No matter how hard I twisted it just wouldnt budge, cursing and swearing, after I removed the grill, because its got a sump guard, and that restricts your access. In the end I had to wack a 3/8 drill through the middle and belt a screwdriver through the guts and twist it off that way, nearly blew a fuse, got absolutely no idea why it was so hard to undo, one got any idea why this happened, just curious. |

For peace of mind, after putting the filter on, grab a large hose clamp and put it on the filter with the large part of the clamp against the engine so that it prevents the filter from spinning off. That way you won't have to worry about it being too loose. |

the oil filter is covered in Earth magnets, just incase a tiny little bit of metal gets past the filter, then the magnet grabs it and stops it in its tracks, alway done this to all my cars, was once a topic of conversation in this room. |
