Taking the car to the mini workshop tomorrow where they will take the engine out and the sub-frames off. I have stripped the rest. The plan was to then take the shell to the panel shop nearby that has done some minis and get it blasted and start the panel repairs and re paint. I have just been informed this arvo that the recommended panel shop is now not recommended which has thrown a spanner in the works. Apparently the minis have been piling up for months and don't look like being finished any time soon. Has anyone had any resto work done recently in Melbourne and can recommend (or not) a panel shop that is sympathetic to minis? Not after a cheap job, I'm after a proper job. Cheers. |

Jim, Panels & Performance in Bendigo would be the only place I would take it. |

I agree. Bring it to Bendigo. Ive had work done at Panels & Performance and their work is A1. Gobba is the owner and is featured in the current edition of Unique cars rebuilding his ex Masters HQ as a give away. They have also restored Gary Rogers A9X (saw if going through Bendigo the other day), and Brockys VC. I think British Sports Cars here use Mountjoy panels. |

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stylerod ... 9078300496 This is where I was told by my insurer to take my mini to, it was repaired ( not cut & shut ) after the incident in Qld a few years back (some may remember the amount of damage that was done). Visit a few, have a chat & check out the work being done if your able too. |

Thanks for the input. I took the car to the workshop this morning. Apparently the panel bloke who was recommended and then not recommended is now re recommended! He is having a look at it tomorrow and I will go from there. I don't want it sitting in a workshop for a year untouched though. I will make some calls to the above and getter a better idea of what I should do. Cheers. |

Hmmm, their website looks good and there is a mini in the gallery! Like the sound of Bendigo too, and Rhodes! I don't want to be hiring the trailer too often at $72- for 4 hours and I guess they all need to see the car. Might make a few phone calls because most of them are probably flat out already. Cheers. |
