Woo, so my new clip turned up today. has anyone played with the bonnet prop clips, there is a plastic cylindrical insert through the middle that pushes out, is that meant to be pushed out then installed or is it meant to be pushed in between the retaining lugs after it is installed to stop them slipping out?

Banana for scale, screw driver for reference.

I have been told those clips are NLA, The centre cylinder needs to be banged into the centre forcing the prongs out which is what locks it into position in the square hole

I was many years ago I did it and remember it being a pain to do. I didn't have a pin punch at the time though

Yea you push the clip into the bonnet as it is, making sure you orientate it correctly for the prop to clip in nicely. You then push the pin in till it is flush with the base of the clip, as this spread the little fingers of the clip out so it can't be pulled out of the bonnet.

Shhh It just happened to be on my desk, Thanks for the info guys.

It was about $10-12AUD ish from Classic mini Spares NZ (www.classicminispares.co.nz)

I like this clip style so I searched for it, I might try and take some good measurements and make a 3d model of it so I can 3D print it later.
