advertised for sale on the NSW Mini Car Club website. I've spoken to the current owner but they don't seem to know any of the car's previous history. I'm almost certain that it is my first car. It looks like it may have changed quite a bit over the past 18 - 19 years but that's to be expected as previous owners may have added their personal touches. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

there's heaps of similarities to my old car. Some other things have changed but as i said, it could be a case of each different owner over the past 18 years adding their own style. The main things - * 1964 model 850 * Deseamed, but roof gutters still in tact * Twin tanks * weber box (weber now gone, twin su's instead) * the red paint visible where the paint has been scratched off in the weber box * the gauge layout on the dash is exactly the same, looks like 1 gauge has been replaced and the material has all been changed though. * retractable seat belts in the front with the reels in the side boxes (not visible in these pics but the current owner sent me some other pics detailing this) * rear seatbelts - not a huge thing i know, but we fitted rear belts to mine also * can't tell for sure from those pictures but it looks like it still has the same wheels on it, which i've never seen on any other minis * the reverse light * wind up windows - another common mod, but a similarity none-the-less here's a few pics of the old car when we first rebuilt it. Forgive me for my P-plater sound system, interior and engine colour choices ![]() ![]() mini_5 by Chux007, on Flickr ![]() mini_6 by Chux007, on Flickr ![]() mini_4 by Chux007, on Flickr ![]() mini_3 by Chux007, on Flickr ![]() mini_1 by Chux007, on Flickr ![]() mini_2 by Chux007, on Flickr [/list] |

Both cars have the later style steering column shroud and the Mk2 indicator switch. The interesting thing is the switch is bent in both cars. Given everything else looks similar, my money is on same car. PS looked better in red when you had it. IMHO G. |

I did notice the indicator stalk but forgot to mention it, i remember when we bought it ... the price was insane. I'm going to arrange to have a look at it in person. The rotisserie hole behind the back seat has been welded up and there are 4 x 2 inch holes in the parcel shelf... if those are there.. well ... i don't know what happens if those are there. If i buy this thing i'll probably be sleeping in it as the girlfriend would surely kick my ass to the kerb ![]() |

yeah it was a Rajay draw-through carby setup which i never ended up fitting. It was off an orange clubby i think originally. Sold it to a friend back in 1996 i think it was and as far as i know he never fitted it either and still has it sitting in his garage somewhere hahaha. |
