Not sure if you have seen this..............wonder where the car is now http://i555.photobucket.com/albums/jj47 ... 1589f2.jpg http://i555.photobucket.com/albums/jj47 ... 801873.jpg James Garner is shown here with his ’66 Morris Cooper S, a left-hand-drive (LHD) model. This pic, taken in 1966, shows Garner and his Mini. Of course, he wouldn’t want to drive just any old Cooper S, would he? His Mini has a custom two-tone blue paint job, Webasto full pull-back sunroof, chromed external door hinges, flip-top alloy fuel filler, chrome exhaust tip and alloy wheels with chrome lug nuts and white-lettered Goodyears. Garner’s rise to stardom began with the 1963 movie, “The Great Escape.” http://www.flickr.com/photos/austin7nut ... otostream/ |

Bought a Blu-Ray DVD of LE MANS with Steve McQueen at K mart last weekend for only $8. Very good restoration of the original print. |

Funnily enough, the TV series was called "Maverick" John...with Bret and Bart Maverick (and in later seasons, their English cousin, Beau) playing well dressed gamblers ![]() |

He's a bit more of a casual dresser than his mate, but there wasn't anyone cooler in 1965. According to an interview with Garner that I read, the two were next-door-neighbours, and they both brought their minis back to the US after they finished filming "The Great Escape". They'd race each other up and down their neighbourhood. Tim |

Although is late at night, I've been watching the Rockford files and they are still a good watch after many years and he does his own driving. |

According to a biography on McQueen he had the opportunity of driving professionally for BMC, but instead elected to pursue a growing opportunity in the movie business Sent from my SM-A305YN using Tapatalk |
