Evening All, I just wanted to see if anyone had pics of the end on the gearbox that the gear stick connects to. I have two and a half gearboxes in the shed and the magic wand from my 850 will work in any of them. Have I been lucky enough to subconsciously collect the boxes or is the tail used for a couple of different gear changes? Ian |

The 850 shift was only used on the 850 and the early Moke in Aus. The Cooper, Deluxe, Cooper S, K and Clubman used the remote shift. Leyland Minis used the rod-change (well they used the remote shift for a bit first) Mokes and Mini 1100 vans (aka K Vans) used the remote box with a direct shift) till the rod change took over. Take a look at page 2 in this thread to see the photos of some of the different types of shifts.. |

Spot on Again I would just add that the gearlever used on Mokes and Mini 1100 vans (aka K Vans) used the remote box with a direct shift) till the rod change took over. Had the slot on the top of the ball not on the side like the 850, however the 850 stick can be modified for use in above |

Hi All, Thanks for that. So I'm guessing the boxes are quite different where the gear stick goes in. That means I have some how collected two magic wand gear boxes. Ian |
