Post subject: | Bonnet Lock |
I was adjusting the length of the spike on the bonnet lock today and have now got the bonnet stuck closed because it is shut so tight I can't open the release. Any suggestions of how to fix this? Cheers James |

Can you reach the bolts that hold the catch plate from underneath with a loooong socket[ or are they welded nuts??] By "from underneath" meaning from under the front lower grille. The Clubman has nuts & bolts, not fixed nuts. |

Suggestion. If you can push down hard in the centre of the bonnet, while pulling the cable or release lever, it may just "pop". Carefull not to dent bonnet. It sounds like it's under strain, and if you can get just a couple millimetres downwards flex, it may pop. The side rubbers may also compress slightly to help this. Good luck Alex |

if its an engine bay operated release stick a bit of tube or a screwdriver in there and hit it sideways with a hammer. otherwise un screw the grille and see if you can get in there a bit better |
