Yes they do, you have to elongate the mounting holes and it bolts up. Doogie |

AFAIK as long as it's a 'real' gemini it's fine. ie gotta be rear wheel drive gemmy, so RB's don't count. only thing an RB is good for is it's electronic dizzy module to retrofit into your TC-TG dizzy. |

If the ring gear is a bit worn will the Gemini starter work better than the old Mini type? My theory is it might because the Gemini starter would engage the ring gear from the opposite direction? Thanks, |

Thanks, You are correct Brett, you win the kewpie doll. ![]() geMini starter engages ring gear from the front, which is never worn. |

Thanks Doc. I threw my Gemini bits out years ago, so I'll be stealing one from a mate soon. Much easier than changing a ring gear. Cheers, |

I have a Gemini starter on my Morris 1100 if you want to have a look at one in place. They are a very good mod. |

Would the Gemini starter work on a positive ground car? How easy is it to get one? |

Just a matter of does the pinion gear have the same number of teeth as a mini one Ta Kiwiinwgtn |

Bernard I don't have one handy but they are 9 or 10 teeth, same as a Mini one is. They fit fine in pre-Verto ring gears, dunno about Rovers- probably not. Adios57, you can buy new ones already slotted to bolt in a Mini, from http://www.mgspareparts.com.au/ Around $160 last time I got one. These are same as a Gemini but made in that PRC place... not Japan. [edit] I've just ordered a Bosch planetary geared starter from Convertible Mini on here for my hi-po 1360. Cost is about $330, however I need its extra torque due to my 20°BTDC static timing (due to combustion chamber shape + camshaft type). [edit 2] it's in now, and I'm very happy with how it spins. |

So How do you like it Kev ? I also make these for A+ engines with Verto Clutch. They have a different Drive and dimensions to mesh properly. |

So what's the advantage in using a Gemini starter compared to the regular mini one?? |

Im assuming it has more guts than a standard mini one!? Ive been told to get one for my 1412cc motor, for better ease in starting. Edit: This article might help. Yes they are more powerful and have a higher cranking speed. http://www.moke.com.au/in-the-garage/mo ... ni-starter |
