Hey all,
Finally got around to replacing the sender this afternoon and now all is good
Been driving around for about a month without a working fuel guage, just keeping track of the kilometres travelled since the last fill-up.
Well the SECOND time I forgot about the kilometres was enough of a kick in the pants to get my act together and do something about it!! One call NRMA and the other time the dreaded walk with the petrol tin was enough shame for me
Anyway, to my question. When I took out the old sender, I noticed that the plastic float on the end actually had some fuel in it. Is this normal? At a cursory glance I thought it looked like it should be a sealed unit (the float part) or perhaps the seam had just worn thin over time.
Just me being curious
