Greetings Mini Guru's.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - Oi, Oi, Oi !
I must be doing something mighty wrong with my 1'1/4 twin SU's. It's got me beat?
Symptons:
The drivers side doesn't seem to be sucking at all.
I've stripped and cleaned them. Read several manuals and put them together. Set them both 12 flats from fully up (as a starting point) Linkages etc all set nice.
Still no suction drivers side. Swapped side to side fuel bowl lids, pistons, needles, spings etc to eliminate any of those bits. No change. I can lift the Drivers side piston with out any change to running. If I touch the Passengers side it effects its running. When I took off the float lids, they were both exactly same fuel level (1" from top.) With a hose I can hear the passengers carby sucking like Monika, but almost nothing drivers side.
Have I missed something obvious?
All new gaskets. I'm sure ther's no air leak.
Alex.

(Cup of tea and a Bex? Yes dear........)

I know you said "new gaskets, no air leaks" but how about the manifold gasket? Extractors fitted? Is there good even tension on both the intake & exhaust tabs where bolted to the head?

Some exhausts like my maniflows are a different thickness to my intake, creates all sorts of fun trying to get a good seal :x

cheers

Jacob

What have you done with the idle screws? How did you set them?

Problem Solvered!

I sat down and thought about it, then slid my "Snake Scope" to look at the round disk's. I disconected the joining linkage and ballanced them not connected.

It's probably something you all do normally, but I got confussed. I've almost got them sucking evenly. I'll get back to it.
Amazing how a "bee's whisker" makes so much difference!

THANKS ALL.

Alex.
