Whats the bets way to freight a motor.

Ill be using e-go couriers.

Is it best to just stick it on a pallet and be done with it, or would couriers take it If I wrapped it like a parcel.

Whats a 1100s short motor weigh?

Must have a pallet so they can lift it, as it's about 90kg - but don't quote me on that!

I thought they were closer to 120kg.

But a pallet i would say is a must.

Maddmatt couriered me a twinky engine on a pallet with TNT, cost me i believe $150 from QLD to sydney

I paid just over 80 dollars for full pallet with ...

My Stroker motor (complete)
2 extra blocks
2 extra cranks
various ancillaries.

Adelaide, SA To North Rocks, NSW....

Just the motor was mine, the other bits were an Nb racing guys stuff... going to the same place 8)

e-go requires an engine to be drained of oil and strapped solidly to a pallet if over 35kg (I guess if it was from a motor scooter...). They quoted me $120 extra to send out a truck with a tailgate lift thing unless a forklift is available on site. They may be able to manage with a pallet dolly if using a tail lift but they were a bit non-specific about this when I asked them.

Its probably good manners to wrap it in glad wrap if its really greasy, and likely to mean that its treated a little more respectfully (i.e. only drop it 5 feet instead of 6).

I got 2 starlet engines freighted from perth to brissy for $200 through e-go.
Was all fine except they didnt send a tail life truck out to drop it off, luckily i had my engine crane so got them off the back of a truck that way. He wasnt happy, but cheered up a bit when i showed him a toyota engine in a mini.

Using E-Go, I recently freighted a short motor from Geelong to Adelaide for $35

Packing was in a cardboard box with craftwood fitted around each surface (6 pieces) with lots of torn up cardboard in the box as packing - engine wrapped in stacks of bubble wrap.

The weight was approx 65 kilos and it had to be on a small pallett so it could be fork lifted on or off the truck.
