Hi,
Are there differences in the centre section of the early wooden dashs. Where there ones made for the 850/Deluxe and Coopers? I have one with the hole for the speedo and two 50mm gauges below it. When I've tried that centre section in my deluxe, the speedo hole sits too high. Is there another version that should be looking for, or do I have a bigger issue?

Second question regarding fitting the dash, do you need to remove the chrome strip that sits along the dash rail?

Cheers,
James.

I had one in my car when I first bought it. Maybe some are meant for the speedo to mounted in the timber, rather than staying in the plastic binnicle? Also yes, usually the chrome strip is removed, that I do remember because I had to find a replacement. They can be difficult to remove without damaging. Maybe it could stay depending where the panel sits.
