hey guys, im thinking about getting rid of the rubber springs and fitting these allround. Does anyone have any experience with them or have an opinion as to wheather i should fit them or stick with the rubber type suspension?? They are a spax kit and if i cant get them over here i might have them sent from the UK.

Have a good day

unless you going for a full race track car i think they are not a good choice. Maybe try to get a set of gaz or spax adjustable shocks all round. With them you can have them soft for street use and then wind them on hard for track days. Imo coilovers are over kill, but if you have an unlimated budget go for it. they do cost an arm and leg.

I got a set of spax adjustables from uk ebay for 40 pounds on there way over at the moment, shipping is about 40pounds so all up around $180 for the set.

I have done a bit of research on this. From what I've been told the mounts supplied with the kit will rip the car apart on our roads you rally need to modify the inner guards with bracing where the new top mounts will go.

You will also have problems with clearance between the springs and tyres, especially on the rear.

I have just ordered a set of coil springs that replace the rubber cones. They are variable rate and can still use Hi-Los.

Good Luck with your decision.

Hey Bent, when ya get those coil springs fitted could you post a thread on what you think of em. i've been considering them, since they really arent that much more expensive than new cones.

And what stiffness springs have ya ordered?
