Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can get original or close to original felt insulated backed vinyl as per the original 850's

I have got some stuff on the engine bay side of the fire wall that i got from Bruce at MG Sports Parts at Thornleigh years ago, but it is quite glossy and i would like it in a mat like finish.

I currently have door trims from Newton Commercial and they are board back vinyl like a deluxe/K/S door trim and i just dont like it that much.

Grant

They didn't have door cards ,so the newton ones are not strictly correct, but the plain trim is .

The hessian backing was just glued to the outer door skin and the trim material glued to the hessian

Ok, how about the rear, was it the same, and how was it edged ?

I'll have to get my hands on a couple of pieces I think!

Thanks!

my 850 had stitched blue trim in the rear and glue hension backed black vinyl in the front.
I liked the look of the stitched front door trims from Newtons. I will soon see what it is like when it arrives :D

Because the rears are common across all Oz minis your stitched rear sections probably came from a later car. There were no later stitched panels that suited 850 doors so the POs just stuck with the originals.

UK front and rear panels weren't "stitched" rather the lines were formed by frequency welding... That's what you are looking at in the Newton ads.

Cheers, Ian

Rear trims are same as front ,hessian backed glued in place
