hey guys, anyone got a rough estimate on how much greenslip, blueslip and rego is for a mini clubman 1100 in sydney??

my mini's about to hit the road in the next week or so and so i need to get rego insurance and blue slip....

Car will be stock when going for blue slip so no probs in engineering certificates etc...just the blue slip itself.

thanx...

I just paid mine last week on my `70 Mini.

Greenslip (NRMA) was $297 (I have full comp insurance, or it would have been $435).

Rego was $196. You would have stamp duty as well if original rego.

Pink slip was $28. Dunno about blueslip but it is dearer.

blue slip? pink slip?? green slip???..... what the HELL are THEY???
how many friggin bits of paper does it take to drive a car with NSW rego??

Just out of interest, what is the total cost of compulsory vehicle bills when you own a mini in NSW??

Here in adelaide, we have REGISTRATION, $500 for 12 months .......and thats it!!!! Pay your $500, put the sticker in your window and drive away!!! none of this pink slip stuff you're talkin about.......

Drivers licence is, or was, $100 for TEN YEARS, but that isnt a vehicle bill.

Years ago our `caring' state gov't privatised the 3rd party (ie bodily injury) part of the rego and called it a green slip. Started off at $190- look at it now..

Pink slip is just annual registration check at most servos.

Blue slip is initial inspection for an unregoed car- used to be done by RTA but they've privatised that too. Some servos do it (no many). 8)

I have had to blueslip 3 cars in three years for various reasons & have had good experience in all cases but none on the first attempt.
regarding the total cost of owning a mini in NSW you don't get much change from a grand/year before it drives anywhere if you have comp insurance as well its more a bit less if you live out of metro area.

I actually like pink slip inspections tends to keep death traps off the road if you find a fair dinkum machanic. I used to live in QLD (on offence to QLDrs ) & my car was not good then.

...okay then.... my sc850 was last registered in 1997. If i was to re-register it tomorrow, it would also get a $14 fee ontop of the $500 for 12 months. And then, if i tell em its unmodified  , i WONT even need to get it checked at Regency (our version of the RTA). They wont need to LOOK at it!!! how cool is that!!

My '63 mini roadster had the roof cut off with an angle grinder. All cars would be required to undergo a roadworthy check at Regency after having the roof cut off, unless they were built before 1969, in which case they can go straight back on the road...... (saving around $3000 in engineer's certificates)

I love the SA government!!!!

sorry, i'm getting a bit off topic here!
