What are the materials of choice for fuel lines? I've been looking around for some stainless steel tube, but haven't found any. I'll have to go looking again during the week. Is there anything else (or anything better) than what I plan to use? Thanks.

Stainless is overkill and too hard to work. I went to Robbo's Spares and bought the aluminium coated steel fuel line off the roll, by the metre. As it was getting a 1310 motor I used 5/16" line not 1/4. Note size is measured on O/D not I/D. It's easy to bend- I have a bender but you can bend it over your knee or round a block of wood or whatever. 
For fuel hose I used the USA made stuff, (it suits unleaded) and it's great. After 13 years it's still supple, not gone hard or cracked. |

I usually put in aluminium tubing for fuel line, unless you plan to run methanol then use stainless. You can pick up various tube materials and sizes from pirtek, some auto lecs (they use it for AC) or from a retailer of rocket industries.com.au Bundy tube also works but it is steel and i can't remember if it is lined to stop rust inside. Thanks guys. Is copper an option? I know it wouldn't be used as brake line, it could corrode or react inside, but does petrol do the same? Also, what wall thickness would be needed in the case of say, aluminium?

Don't use copper, it gets hard with age and vibrations can break it. 99% of cars use steel lines.
