ok, so I found a mini for sale...

'68 deluxe(?), 1275 rebuilt/rebored to 1293, ported/polished head, HIF?? carby, cooper S disc brake conversion, very small amount of rust (mainly around the roof seam), paint is a little rough as it was painted with aersol cans, new tyres on 10" contessas, i tihnk it has a half roll cage installed too...

i last saw the car 3 years ago before i moved to sydney, and the guy says it's been off the road for about 2 years, and stored in the dry.

he's willing to sell it to me for $3000.

The only thing he thinks is wrong is it smells very oily when running (smell coming from one of the breathers, not sure if it is crank case or rocker cover)... is this normal, or likely to be a major problem? I dont think it has any major oil leaks. He says it might need the head taken off it and looked at?

to me it sounds like a bit of a bargain.. it's sounds like the car i've been searching for for almost 12 months..
