Hey all, just a quick one... Thermostat, how important is it? Are there risks if its not in? What is the best type to use and are they readily avaliable (supercraps etc)? |

If the thermostat isn't in and you don't use a blanking sleeve then the water is likely to go too fast to have time to cool in the radiator . Also the motor will be slower to warm up without a thermostat . They are available pretty much anywhere (supercrap etc) , not sure on best temp to get but I normally drill two 1/4" holes into the flat bit of them to allow water to circulate better than just the bypass hose while the thermostat is closed . |

there are 3 different temp ones- 74C, 82C, 88C. I use the 82. A 74 is too cold for winter use and I reckon the 88 is too hot for Oz. Cheaper to buy em from Karcraft etc lately, rather than Superdear... ![]() |

Thanks for the replies, are they a specific size for the mini or is it a generic item? |
