Post subject:  LS Brochure

Hi

Does anyone have an LS brochure that they could scan and send to me. I'd like to see the picture of the factory alloy Contessa wheel in that brochure.

I'm not convinced that they were fitted to LS's so here's the chance to prove me wrong.

I dont have a scanned copy of the brochure, but I can definately say that 998LS had contessa wheels, while the 1275LS had steel wheels with hubcaps.

I have the hard copy here, but i dont have a scanner.

What did you think they had?
The normal Leyland Mini S came with the sports steel wheels and they wanted to dress up the LS to look better than an S. So they fitted Contessas to make them look a bit better.
When the 1275LS came out they fitted the orrible 12" steel wheels with the plastic "mag" hubcaps.

Sally is as original as she was when she rolled out of the factory, and she has the LS Contessas.
I have a Mini brochure here that shows the Contessas as a factory fitted item for the LS, but my scanner is dead (has been for a while!).

Like Morris said, what do you think they had? Like I said I've got proof they were factory but like czerial no way to show you.

Sorry Beefa no more.....
I borrowed that picture from a book "Spotlight on Mini Minor Downunder".

My 998LS looked similar... until I parked it in the boot of an RX2.... (back in 89 ! )

Was my first Mini... may parts still live on in my subsequent minis...

Hi all
The 998 engined LS and SS were all produced with contessa wheels
the wheels fitted to these cars were offset inwards ( because of the wide brakedrums and are noticeably
shallower than contessa's bought aftermarket . they had a plain chrome centrecap with a stick on Leyland insignia.

By the way did you know that R.O.H originally called these wheels CONTESSTA the contessa name seems to have come about by popular
misuse

I have 3 of these caps sitting in the garage ( found them on the weekend when looking for something else - the 4th went bush years ago )

I agree they do add to the look but they are too small diameter to fit other Contessa style rims....
