Those sought after, obscure Mini related factory and after market period accessories can fetch a large sum of money these days. Check out these original wicker under-seat baskets on ebay at the moment. BIG MONEY. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ORIGINAL-1959-AUSTIN7-MINI-WICKERWORK-UNDERSEAT-BASKETS_W0QQitemZ160119537266QQihZ006QQcategoryZ43122QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem So what goodies have you got stashed away? |

I think you'll find that the baskets aren't square like any old thing from an op shop, the lid actually angles down at the back to fit under the seat, you can sorta see it in the pic. |

Tim Hi Tim, You are correct and I've seen them for sale on UK e-Bay as well. Hmmmm, I wonder how old these ones are. Al |

I don't know a lot about basket making but when I was a kid (in the '70s) we had a local basket maker. When you needed a basket you went to him and said "make me a basket like this" and a day or two later he showed up with the basket. He was also a handy bloke to know when you were building a kite as I recall. Old fashioned basket makers are probably all dead, but there'd still be someone that you could take a photo and some dimensions to, who could weave a pair up. Tim |

Love the table , be suited to the UK climate more than here though , we can get out of our cars and enjoy the sunshine for a picnic ..... As for the baskets , anyone going to Bali etc for work or a holiday soon ????? Take some measurements and get them made up , get 50 pairs made and sent over and I'd say you'd sell them pretty quick . |

I've bought of this guy in the past, no worries! However, he sometimes blocks o/seas bids, best to contact him first if you intend to bid! Cheers! ![]() |
