FRESH ON THE MARKET

I believe JAN "mutant mini" has a full range of car neons for sale, including many underbody varieties. The neons have had the wires cut so providing you have some technical knowledge you will have no problems fitting them to your car.
THIS was a forced sale due to some fine frendly cops.

CONTACT ME ON.

Should have the photos up soon if I can find someone to post them.

This is a portion of the article Tzi sent me a couple of weeks ago regarding the Non Essential Lights regs. Some of you may remember it.

"As to the use of fluorescent lights under vehicles and the blue lights fixed to vehicle bonnets or wiper blades, providing they do not dazzle other road users, they are quite lawful."

Also from the article:
"The Macquarie Dictionary defines dazzle as 1. To overpower or dim (the vision) by intense light. 6. Temporary loss of vision, or temporary reduction of visual acuity, related to the presence of a bright (possibly moving) source of light."

Having said all this, I guess it's up to the policeman involved.

Ummm, I dunno of very many mini's in OZ, that were built after 1991. I'm not counting Bini's, so :P

As to being DAZZLED by light. I think the coppers were probably being picky of the fact it would be DISTRACTING to other motorists. One of my mates was hammered for having a little red flashing LED type light in his grill.

But no, he wasnt done for unrequired lights. Because he was in a white commodore, with a red flashing light they charged him with impersonating a police officer. End result: a 500 buck fine.

To top all that off, I seem to have a magnet for RBT's. I average an RBT about once a week, but that wasnt enough the other night. After the RBT, and License check, they still werent satisfied. They decided that I might be carrying some dangerous weapon, or illegal substances in the car and proceeded to search every spot they could think of. Took me about half an hour to repack the car cover and everything else they ripped out.

PUBLIC STATEMENT: I DONT LIKE COPS

booo... I think a few of us were a bit guilty for "RICE" on our cars then! All in good fun, with the right cause. How much money did we raise?

So what exactly happened?? Did the police make jan cut the wires or did they just fine her and make her turn them off?? Im going to be "riceing" up my mini as soon as its finshed so ill guess ill just have to keep an eye out for the po-po (police). Speaking of rice, if asian made cars are rice burners, what does that make ours "yorkshire pudding burners????

What a knob. Anybody can see the amount of work that's gone into Mutant Mini. I used to think that no matter what opinion people had of police, they were doing their job to the best of their ability. I know that's an absolute crock. I can understand a crackdown on Street racing, but the pigs are taking it way too far. Especially when it was all done for fundraising efforts.

I woulda just told him to take the red and blue flashy lights of his car, and I'll do the same. :D :D :D I know for a fact that telling them they couldnt find their arse with both hands gets them in a big hissy fit, though

I spose it coulda been worse. Living in Vic i'm amazed they dint shoot the lights out. Dont worry about crime though. Jan's car wont be blinding you in the future. Makes ya feel so safe, doesnt it?

I do have a question. Were you actually driving around with the RICE on, Jan? Or just in the car park?

If you feel it's worthy of formal attention ya can go here........

I was driving with them on as we thought it was legal. I wasn't the only one driving with them on but probably I had the most.
