someone on here does an ausmini screensaver. Cant for the life of me remember who though. (wait...whodat maybe?)

Yep that was me - sorry have not been around much for a while. Mr Nobody gave me a call and sorta suggested to me to make another one so I thought I'd ask you.

Sure is. He hasn't released one since March.

It was actually longer than that - Summer 2005 to be precise. [has it been that long?]

After the hassles I was given by ausmini members for not doing a Mac version, not putting their pic in etc when I was putting together the last version, I felt prety well used and abused by the end of it. So I'm not inclined to go through that again by organising another one. To create one from the raw pics is fine - organising which pics to use - umm no.

Ok so I am officially handing over any organisation of the next Ausmini screen saver to that famous Mr Someone. I'm sure you have met him or at least heard of him. He's the dude that always gets stuff done! Everyone knows that Somebody will do it! Now I have not actually met Mr Somebody, and to tell the truth, I hear some rumors that he's a bit on the - shall we say "casual" side - but Everyone keeps saying he's the man for the job so I'm giving him the task. I'm not expecting Mr Anyone to to be of any great assistance to the cause here but I do expect Mr Everyone to be extremely critical of Mr Anyone's lack of commitment as well as Mr Someone's lack of efficency. Mr Nobody is of course going to fail to do his thing, as usual, but as always he'll have the most creative excuse, so there is really not much point in complaining about his performance or lack there of, he'll never change. All this is fine as long as Mr Everyone knows that Mr WhoDat is not organising the next one. I'm happy to do the work of creating it, to Mr Someone's exacting specifications of course. I'll squirrel away on the machines in the back room, turning the cogs and adjusting the dials but organisation or the raw material will be Mr Someone's problem. Getting that grumpy Mr Everyone to sign off on the project this time, that's he problem as well.

I'm happy to produce a new one for the Ausmini community or one for anyone for that matter - Just PM me what you want, supply me the pics you want to use and it's done. Anything more than that and it's up to you.

[My bets on Mr Nobody]

How can I get this screen saver?

Which one? there have been 3 versions published to date.
Summer 04 - Best pics [some really great shots in this one - 6.16Mb]
Autumn 05 - Most pics [hoestly - this package is too big - 9.8Mb, it slows down the pc badly]
Summer 05 - Later pics [as voted most popular 20 pics of the day- 2.51Mb]

Simply ask nicely [in a PM giving an email address] and I'll send you whichever old copy you want.

You want a new one made? Then you better put your hand up and start organising it to happen.

Have fun - I know I am
Cheers Dat

You can have as many pics are you want in it but the more you have the more strain it puts on the machine you install it on. Some people complained it made their machiens go real slow with version 2

Here a rough guide for your planning

Version 1 had 39 pics and was bordering on too big
Version 2 had 64 pics in it and it was way too big
Version 3 had 20 pics and you may have got away with a few more.

Oh and a good saver needs good quality pics

Left me know when you got them together
Have fun
Dat
