Could this be classified as a paint booth. How and where have people painted their own cars? ![]() ![]() |

It would certainly help reduce the insects and dust that keep getting trapped in the paint when doing it outdoors but unfortunately not classed as a booth . The professional paint booths are generally heated , sealed and filtered to control dust etc and also capture the paint (especially 2 pack) before it gets out into the environment . I've painted mine in carports and garages but something like that looks a brilliant idea for the next time . |

It was done with 2 pac. Plastic on the floor helped to keep the dust down. Went through about 20 metres of the wide stuff, put the last length down for the top coats ![]() Plastic also helps keep the paint off the driveway and the landlord a bit happier ![]() ![]() |

i wouldent like having my numberplate and contact details on a public forum talking about doing what you have done ![]() there could be an epa dude snooping around on here, very nice finish btw a booth has to have special filters to remove the toxins from the paint, its in the colour but the deadliest lies in the cleer |

Wasn't too worried about EPA as both ends close and seal properly (with tape) and plastic on the floor as I mentioned already. Would look at doing something like czerial if I was doing a few more. Used disposable overalls, gloves and breathing apparatus while doing the painting. Main problem was waiting for the right weather as it was a bit blowy and wet on occasion, nice enough days seemed to come around when we required it. ![]() Will remember to blot the number in future. |
