if you want help ypull ahve to tell people where you are.....

in your profile

t get the engine out easiest way is to disconnect all hoses and pipes and wiring
take the carby off and the radiator nad brackets and the grille out.

now stick the subframe on blocks or axle stands and with a engine crane or some tuff friends lift the car off the subframe

easy as pie

people feel free to change this

cheers jamie

Okay - lets start thinking sensibly. I can help you but spewing oil everyhere is not a help description.

It may not necessarily an engine rebuild problem but we have to know exactly where the oil is "spewing" from. Put the car up on jack stands with the front wheels off the ground. Do it so the car cannot fall off one or more of the stands.

If you do not have this basic safe working equipment then you are not going to be able to proceed should it need an engine removal.

Now, start the engine and watch exactly where the oil is coming from. It will be coming from either the axle seals, the clutch oil seal (thats the split pin thing under the round thing at the drivers side) the timing case seal or the gear change mechanism. If its coming from anywhere else then we approach it differently.

Now give me accurate information and I will help further - I will be online for a while coz channel nine is putting cricket above all else and cricket is not my thing.

Not the way I'd take out the motor if you're trying to hurry things along... as you'll have to re-bleed your brakes (plus all the other hassles that can come with rusty brake lines and connectors)...

I remove as much as I can from the motor, eg. radiator, alternator, carby, exhaust manifold, clutch slave cylinder, starter motor, etc... dont forget the important things like the earth strap, engine steadies and the speedo cable. Draining the oil (whatever's left) will save a few kilo's too (it's also easier doing it while the motor is still in the car)...

Now you've gotta jack the car up and get underneath... undo your gear change (whichever type you may have) from the back of the gearbox, the bottom exhaust mount (it's bolted to one of the diff side covers), undo both of your lower engine mounts (off the subframe).

Then it depends what style of output coupling you've got... but basically whichever it is you'll have to seperate it both sides.

Then if you've got a strong friend or two... you can just lift the motor out... but it's nicer and less painful to use and engine crane/block and tackle...

If you're switched on and you've got all the right tools (or there abouts) it should only take a couple of hours.

Have fun :P

Sounds like diff output shaft gasket/seals...if your Dad is a Mech he should have told you by now that to find the source of a leak....well...first you have to clean up the crime scene and then take it for a spin to see where that pesky oil is coming from..right???

Get the truck wash out, the Karcher or go to the nearest Car Lovers and get that engine clean-as

All seal leaks can be fixed without removing the engine, but I guess if they were ALL leaking I might pull it out....
But not if it's just a timing cover seal or diff seals. 8)
