Always been in Sydney, the rotor/mini connection is pretty common though, I think it's the unconventional approach of propulsion that appeals to us. I actually don't like Mazdas so much, just rotary engines! I also know a few old Ferrari owners that like/own Minis too. The oil leaks and quirky nature of the Fazzas is easy to compare I guess. Start time for the races? Haven't seen a program and the only info of the event is on wakefields website. Most events start at 9:00~ish and go to ~4pm I think?? Daniel |

Post subject: | Wakefield Park MRA Series opener 2007. |
4th February 2007 The Mini Racing Association’s 2007 season opener started out where it finished last year with Charlie Borg Grabbing Pole once again with another Honda powered mini driven by Bob Bell on the front row. John Walker & Chris Adlam in iron head engines occupied the second row. Wayne Gardner Peter Crocker Henry Draper John Mallam brad Dubos & Greg Maloure finished of the top ten. Darryl Blanch had a head gasket problem & Allan Ross broke a crank & both where sidelined for the day. Race one saw race favourite Charlie Borg only compete one lap, which kept him out all day. Bob Bell lead the race to the finish but not without John Walker keeping the pressure up to him Chris Adlam finished third with the fastest lap & Peter Crocker was 4th & first crossflow home. Henry Draper kept Greig Malaure out for fifth & john Mallam finished seventh with Brian Walden closely followed in eighth & Wade Thomas ninth & Darren Burns in an unusual tenth. Race two was a repeat of race one for the first four places with a much-improved Robert Sharp fifth & Henry Draper was the 6th & first Group “N” car home. Brian Walden split the Group “N” cars to finish seventh Greig Malaure eighth Wade Thomas once again ninth & Darren Burns tenth. Race three a Bell Walker & Adlam affair but this time Walker nearly got his first victory for 2007. Henry Draper & Robert Sharp where having a great dice for 4th & fifth with Draper winning out. Walden finishing in sith & Darren Burns seventh. Peter Crocker sub come to mechanical problems and had a DNF along with Wade Thomas & Wayne Gardiner. The last race of the day was cancelled due to a severe thunderstorm. Regards, Brian Walden.
