So sitting in 4th gear on around 3000rpm, I put the foot down to pass and once it hits around 4000 the clutch starts to slip and revs go up but car not go faster??

Any ideas? Could this be major?

Cheers,
BC.

I'd say it needs a clutch job, whether the oil seal is leaking or not.
I'd recommend a Borg & Beck (original) Cooper S clutch kit- you get a blue spot diaphragm, clutch plate, and release bearing for $118 approx.

If seal is leaking, fix whilst the flywheel is out.

Should be able to get one at some mini place in vic, otherrwise order one from karcraft
or brickworx.
Fitting can be done yourself, not the easiest job for a firat timer without the right tools.
:D

Thanks. Have a mate coming down to help me with this on Saturday so hopefully will be right. This guy is a LEGEND. Some in Vic might know him, Dave Condon. Used to own Carlectrics in Carlton and has owned/worked with/raced mini's for a long long time. He's the man!!

Cheers,
BC.
