Post subject:  She crabs no more!!!

Fully Sick! 8)

After months of agonising, measurements, remeasurements, and finally adjustment by the mathematical genius Dr Mini, Lillee's rear end is now aligned!!!

The long story:
The rear wheels/axles compared to the subframe were in exactly aligned however the rear left was at least 1/4inch back fromthe body than the right side. This made her crab left. The left wheel was visually pointing towards the left rear vision mirror :? The total rear end toe out was 1/8th which made the rear feel like it had a mind of it's own. Lillee and I want to go left, rear wants to go right

The camber on the left rear was 3/4 deg negative but the right rear was 1/2 deg positive :?

Front was dead on, camber and castor wise it was pretty good for stock, 1 degree castor on both sides, 3/4 degree neg camber on left 1 degree neg on right, 1/16 toed in at the front.

Instead of moving the rear subframe back into alignment (which i think would have been a nightmare job after seeing what the subframe bolts looked like... and then still having to modify the bracket to correct the toe and camber) we decided to just do it all on the bracket instead.

So the deed was done. Bracket hole on the left had to move 3.5mm forward and 2.3mm up, now she's about just over 3/32 toed in at the rear (exactly 2.5mm) and 1 degree negative on both sides 8) ... AND wow! what a difference, no more vagueness in the rear end, esp on the freeway where she was downright dangerous with 1/8 toe out! It's amazing how big of a difference 3/16th inch makes on a mini

This was not the highlight of the weekend, the highlight was taking Mini Haha for a spin
