i just picked up two mini parts number books today. they seem a little different to the ones that most people have. the first book covers the engines of all mk1 models and the second covers the rest of the body and bits. the strange thing is they have no wording on the covers at all, just a few hard to read numbers, the covers are masonite. when you open up each book, there are parts listings as usual but every page has handwriting on it correcting all sorts of figures and there are notes saying things like " as of car no. xxxxxxx. part number xxxxxx has been supplemented with xxxxx as result of constant devolopement. part xxxxxx is now old stock and is here on obsolete. effective xx/xx/xx." these books have all sorts of notes in them. would i be correct in guessing that these books were used in the factory by the workers when making the minis? does any one have any books like this? if im right im guessing these would be like a bible to people restoring a mk1 to as new condition. |

Probably BMC dealer service/spares dept books, they were constantly updated like that. |
