Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Funny - I had the same thought when I saw it but dismissed the thought as the owner definatively described it as an 1100

Yeah, Id agree. Definitely at least Morrie 1300, maybe even 1500?
Still looks like good value to do up.

It is a not a Morris 1100, the lift up door handles, the vented wheels, the grille, the blinkers, the bumper and the bonnet are the give aways.
The ad says manual gearbox so it should be a 1500 unless it has been dodgied up with an 1100 motor!

The Nomad was available as both the 1300 and the 1500 and the one on ebay is not a Nomad.

I always thought the Nomad was only the 1500, but when a man with the username Morris 1100 says so, I'd concede that my memory was not that good and maybe I'd forgotten about them. They were pretty forgettable.

But, they were an extremely competent and useful car. We had one (1500 Nomad) for a while and the low lip on the hatchback (which was also quite rare) and the fold down seats gave about as much rear space as a minivan, but was a five door with comfortable seating for 4-5 people - try doing that legally in your minivan.

For their era, i don't think they were ugly chris. It wasn't a sportscar, but was a comfortable tourer. Ours had a minor front end accident outside of Rosehill racecourse, but the ultimate end for it was a broken gearbox, so it was sold off as a non-runner. This would have been about '77 or 78.
