What is the best way to repair a cracked upper daspad off a Clubman?

I had a Fiat 124S coupe dash reskinned by them or similar many years ago. Looked perfect.

I haven't worked out the best way. I used expanding foam to fill the cracks but it didn't turn out great. I can see where they were as I think the edges of the cracks are sticking up.

Finding someone to recover it was the hardest part. The first upholsterer had no issue but then then retired before I got around to taking it. I tried a few other places who wouldn't even look. Finally found someone who did it easily and cheaply. Both the places who said they could do it wanted me to fill the cracks first.

I would of course try to do it all myself now.
