Whilst on a recent tour to Japan, I visited Mini Maruyama in Tokyo and met Kazuo Maruyama. What a knowledgeable and friendly 74 year old Mini enthusiast. Many later and historic models are on display in his workshop - which is, in reality a museum with his collection in. His collection includes the worlds oldest mini, a two door roadster and a couple of four door minis. My wife and I spent about an hour or so there looking at the cars and rare parts - more mini steering wheels than I have ever seen (Timmy). If you are ever in Tokyo, its well worth visiting. We used it as our first trial run of the Tokyo metro train system and succeeded without getting lost... amazing. |
