Were the 12 inch standard steel rrims safety rims, as in did they have the bead retaining lip? |

ADR 20 states that cars had to have safety rims fitted from 1st July 1970. From: Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1977 Tyres and rims Part 8 |

Thank you both, I was having a real battle breaking the bead on a 12 inch steel. Now it is off it does indeed have the safety lip, and it does indeed hold on to the bead. |
