Could anybody please advise if the heater flap in the Australian Clubman heater as seen in the photo below has a foam pad attached to either side or one side or nil?

I'm unsure as there is some different colouring on the metal surface and no sign of any foam when dismantling.

Cheers.

From memory there is foam on 1 side only. If no one else chips in I will confirm when I go in the shed tomorrow.

Actually, on my early 73 it is not rubber but a white felt material and it is sandwiched between the two metal plates.

Ok Thanks Dave. Much appreciated.

As you can see in my photo's - there is a felt in-between the two metal plates.

Would anybody else out there have any further information?

Cheers.

There is no foam on mine and it is pretty original. I do have another in bits but finding/ getting to it may take a while.
There would be no point to foam etc on the cabin side and while foam on the fan side may help seal when in the off position it would make little difference over the felt.

These photos are from the Minisport Australia FB group. They seem to show a plain metal surface with felt gasket behind - no foam on the outside.

Assume this is the style of heater we are talking about?

My 1970 and '71 Mini K's had those style heaters. Pretty sure foam on one side only.
