Hi All I thought I had seen something about this before on the forum but I cannot find it. Anyone know where I can buy mini colour coded wiring for some repairs to my electrical system, other than buying a whole new loom? Bazzz |

I believe Vinwire used to sell lengths of Lucas coloured wires. It looks like they are under new ownership and the website doesn’t really show what they sell anymore, so you might need to email/call them |

Rapid cables in brendale have all except 1 colour think they have online shop as well |

Barney; I had the same problem. I got some, by rummaging through an old box in an MG "Sportsparts" store in Thornleigh, NSW. Remember that Lucas wiring was in dozens of other brand cars, so don't just search Mini or BMC suppliers. I also made up a few other cables when I was desperate, by putting short "sleeves" of coloured heat shrink over single coloured wires. I am still trying to find the Lucas colour for GPS wiring; the best that I could do was "Map Light"; purple/red. Dave |

I have bought from Jaydee, Rapid cables and https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/ It all depends what colours are available and my urgency. Jaydee often don't have stock of what wire I need but they have a good selection of other components that can be used when doing modifications. They clearly know what customers want. It adds up quickly. When it's something custom, I usually use the correct main colours. Brown - unfused constant power. Red - park lights Purple - fused constant power Green - accesories White - ignition |

You are probably talking about the correct place (I don't know what post you are talking about) but there's also another company with a similar name: https://autoelectricalspares.co.uk/ I ordered some alternator parts from them (https://autoelectricalspares.co.uk/) a couple of years ago and never received them, I had to open a PayPal case and got refunded. I never received a reply from them even via PayPal. I haven't actually used www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk for a couple of years either so they could've changed. |

I've used regular coloured cable from Repco (OEX brand), and used a paint pen to add the trace. To help make it neat and relatively quick, I modified an old milk bottle lid by drilling a hole for the tip of the paint marker and cutting 2 V shapes for the cable to pass through. The paint has held up, even where I ran it through parts of the body. |

Morris 1100s would be an easy one to get because so many people wreck them for mini parts. There's many other not so desirable British design cars, even trucks. |

I would have been about 4 years ago. Purchased a roll of blue/white to sort out my high beam, and some yellow/red for spotlights. |
