Can someone please advise if this wheel looks to be the type offerable at dealer for clubmans ( maybe earlier as well)? 1971 or thereabouts? With wheels May 72 magazine there was talk of fitting a Moto Lita on Shamus so got me wondering if this wheel is a keeper and possibly restoring it. According to Mk1-Forum in UK, Moto-Lita had their name on the bottom spoke in the 1960s then moved it to the right hand spoke some time in the 1970s. I have the same wheel on my mini K. Given the prices new, it would be worth looking into recovering it. |

The Moto Lita with that psychedelic type font were made under licence in France by LeCarra. I’ve had two with the same stamping, but different spec/finish. One was 14” and polished and the other was 15” and black paint like yours |

My son recovered my old 14"MotaLita with a leather laced cover from USA. Looks good. It's on his 72 clubby. I got a quote previously to get it restored but it was silly money. |

Yep guessing its a case of writing a blank check for upholsterers these days let them guess a price for me albeit googling tends to suggest 50-200 dollers for a refurb. Highly doubt it. There are some leather kits in the market at least. May try to rob from a generic wheel the PU Foam then and rebuild this one up after a fresh respray . This one is 310mm diamter from the rim centrelines so assume thats a 13” possibly? |

Have you got a boss kit for it? Trim ring and centre badge? To me it’s at the point where it’s not necessarily economical to repair unless you can do it all yourself. You can find some in decent condition around the $200 mark ready to install |

I had one of those Motolitas and wasn't impressed by it. The aluminium was soft like old melted down saucepans. Got a vintage Momo now that is far better made. |

Ive decided to restore a classic clubman steering wheel instead for the time being and will just box this moto lita up for another day. Looks like a lotta work really. |

Mine took the standard Morris or Austin Mk1 horn push assembly. Not used except for decoration as it's a 1970 Matic. |

I have a NOS Moto Lita waiting for my rebuild to progress the steering stage. I'm not sure what it would have been fitted to originally, however the only ID mark is on the centre cap, nothing on the boss, ring or steering wheel. Moto-Lita is embossed on RH spoke. "Moto-Lita 800002" Hope this helps. Attachment: Moto Lita 1 - 1.jpeg Attachment: Moto Lita 2 - 1.jpeg I

The 800002 centre cap was common for Moto Lita bosses, but the badge was changed depending on the application. E.g. Peugeot https://peugeot-teile.com/Nabendeckel-z ... ITA-Lenkra You could also get ones with a Moto Lita horn button, or ones that took the standard Mk1 horn |
