The speedo in the Clubman has a strange issue. The speedo does not match the drive because I decided I wanted a metric speedo rather than the original imperial one.
But here is the strange thing. The Speedo part is under reading by 10% but the mileage part only under reads by 3% which does not make sense to me.

It makes sense to me. The odometer is basically gear driven, it will always read as it left the factory until it is totally worn out and skipping teeth or something like that. The speed section can basically be regarded as a different part and works totally different. even from the factory it would've read differently and less accurately.

I had an aftermarket 200kmh S speedo do that. It made it to 27000km then played up.
I binned it after the local instrument place said they were rubbish and wouldn't touch it.
My diagnosis is the magnet in the speedo drum got weaker...
I fitted an old 140kmh Moke one instead.
Fast forward 5 years, my son bought a new 200kmh S one from minispares.. He then spent another 5 years restoring his Mini.
When finally finished and on the road this speedo did the same. It's under reading 10 at 60kmh. More at higher speeds, odometer is accurate.
Warranty? 5 years since bought, what warranty!
He uses his iPhone for speed indication.

Aftermarket rubbish.
