Hi, Can anyone please advise on the pros and cons of copper anti seize as opposed to aluminium anti seize, and where it's appropriate to use which one on a mini. Thanks in advance. |

I used copper antiseize on the LCB Y piece, after 15 years one pipe wouldn't come out it was stuck fast. They do get red hot. I had to cut the pipe off and remake it later. I us nickel antiseize there now. But the copper one is fine for other stuff. |

I've not seen aluminium antiseize. Both copper and nickel ones are easy to find. I have both, and use either generally. |

I've never seen aluminium antiseize either - you learn something new every day... I've used nickel antiseize for decades in industrial applications, around the home and on my cars. It just works! As the doc alluded to earlier, copper has a lower temperature rating. Also of note is that copper is NOT RECOMMENDED for use with stainless steel. |
