Mini K and a Mini 850 Van both with leaking mildly corroded front 1in diam wheel cylinders.
(Van was changed to twin leading shoe. Also 3/4in cylinders on the rear drums of both cars)

I am considering seal kits or replacing with new cylinders. Shopping around I notice that the 15/16" size cylinder appears to far more common, with the 1in size seemingly unavailable from many stores. Was the 1in size an Aussie only thing?

Should I stay with the 1in size or change to the more common 15/16in?
What are the pros/cons of the 1in vs 15/16" front wheel cylinder size?

It seems like everyone just switches between 15/16 and 1" without an issue. You will just need to file the holes as they are in slightly different positions.

No reply to my PM so I've had a look at an old PBR book.

According to this PBR drawing the 15/16" front wheel cylinder should have bolt spacing of 1.48in X 0.71in

Interestingly the 1" cylinder is not listed at all. So measuring the 1in cylinder, it looks like the H dimension is closer to 0.74in.
So fitting the 15/16" to the standard back plates will require elongation of the 1/4" bolt hole by around .030in.

Is this the only fitment issue that I need to worry about?

I presume there is no noticeable change in pedal feel and front-rear bias?
