Which wheel nut spanner is correct for a mk2 S (3/70) ? Both are the same but different - one is thicker and has a deeper socket. Would anyone be able to help me with the dimensions of mk2 jack/tool bag? Thanks.

Peter,
Here is a photo of the spanner that came with my Mk2 S. Looks like the top one in your photo. It is identical to the spanner that came with the mini K when new.

This is "a little something I ran up". The original bag decomposed a long time ago so I don't have exact dimensions. This one is 500mm long, plus another 80mm for the cover flap, 230mm wide.

Bill B My black side jack looks like yours but the tongue doesn't stay in the cars jacking point when lifting the car. May I ask what is the length of your jacks tongue?

It's about 38mm.

There is a thread on Ausmini about problems with these jacks and the solution was welding the piece of round bar (arrowed) to keep the correct angle with the jacking point on the car. Early versions of this style of jack did not have the round bar. Could this be your issue?

Thanks Bill. That bag looks very similar to the Dinos’

Thanks winabbey for the link. That's the one I faintly remember.

winabbey I have the upgraded black jack but the tongue still does not fit my Mk2 S correctly and I have a fear the car will fall off it.

Either the jack is faulty (or is the wrong jack - the Morris 1100 had a similar but slightly different jack) or the jacking point on the car is damaged, or faulty. Has it been damaged or replaced?

Here's the dimensions (in inches) for the lifting lug on the Mini jack.

I am thinking my jack needs some realignment of the washer. Any thoughts Mini people?

It's hard to tell if your jack is damaged or been modified but it does look a bit weird. Have you checked the measurements against the factory drawing? I suggest that's the starting point to narrow down whether the jack or the jacking point is the problem.

Not strictly on topic but you could carry a better type of jack as well as the original that way you would have piece of mind if you need to jack the car.
