If you want it modded to manual I have the gear to do it. |

No need to search the internet. Just enter 10AR at BMC Knolwedgebase at https://leylandaustralia.com.au/resources.htm 300,000 records on file including part numbers, engine codes, vehicle codes, publications, etc.. Regards, Tony |

Surely it is still easier to find a manual block. I might eventually convert a manual block to auto to annoy people, I believe it can be done but not so easy. I am beginning to have a collection of manual parts that I have no use for including blocks. |

You can use the crank from the 10AR in a manual 998 block to convert it to a 1098. I had a 10AR block in my first mini. I don't think it had been properly converted to manual. It came apart at high speed and took out the entire engine and gearbox. The only salvagable part was the 295 head. Tim |

It was fitted with a normal oil pump, I thought they needed a plate under them but this one didn't have one. Had good oil pressure before I pulled it down. |

I'm unsure if there is a difference either. I difference- Oil pump recess is same depth on 998/1098 manual and automatic. So no spacer needed. You use a standard 998 oil pump. You still have to extend the oil hole to the pump.... |
