Is there any difference between these shafts. If not it should be an easy task to change from hardy spice setup to pot joint setup.

Any input would be good.

Yes they are different shafts. The easiest way to tell is the pot joints have circlips on both sides

To swap from hardy spicer you need:
Driveshafts
Diff output shafts
Diff side covers
Pot joints

I don't know if there is a difference in the shafts themselves, but a pot joint will not fit the S diff splines. I am putting a quaife in my car which has pot joint sized output shafts. These are smaller diameter to the S hardy spicer output shafts and flanges. For me to use S shafts and the hardy spicer joints (which I had already rebuilt), I needed 2x diff flanges (MED or swiftune) to suit and 2x pot diff side plates (chm85) with seals (adu5738). Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think you would have to pull your diff apart and use pot joint output shafts, correct diff side plates to suit and seals (as above). Then you could use the pot joints with their associated drive shaft. I have attached pics of MED diff flange and an S one for comparison. [edit : you beat me Timmy while I was taking pictures, left my post as it shows the difference in size]

Cooper S driveshafts have a raised 'band' on them

Do you have pictures that show the differences?

The S shaft has the same spline each end as an 850 or deluxe rubber uni shaft.
Midway along there is a raised diameter about 2mm? bigger and a fingernail wide. For ID only.
Lengths are close to same , I am running a deluxe one now as my S shaft damaged its spline.

TK - what do the error messages say? Be aware there is a maximum file size of 3 Mb for images to be uploaded. If your pics are larger you will need to reduce the size (several ways of doing this).
