Below is a photo of an unusual Clubman switch panel which I have found amongst my parts. It looks like the usual early Clubman centre ignition panel except it has a silver "sticker" on the left hand side. I am used to these being black with a silver Leyland logo inside a silver rectangle. This one has a black Leyland logo inside a black rectangle. Also it is missing the printed (screened?) word HOT on the far left hand side, it only shows WARM and then COLD. I have carefully inspected this under a magnifying glass and it shows no evidence of the word HOT ever being there - unless these printed words can be removed without leaving any sign of damage whatsoever? Any thoughts anyone? |

I have seen quite a few of the silver sticker type. They appear on the 1971 Clubman and Clubman GT. I assumed they were an interim switch panel used before the Black logo was used or if there was a supply issue. A few of the GT road test photos show the Silver Logo. The pics are too grainy to see if they have the HOT wording. Perhaps they were trying to be realistic about the temperature coming out of the heater ![]() |
