Hi all,

The clutch housing on my 3 synchro is munted following an idler bearing failure previously.
I have a spare 4 synchro housing. They look very similar, apart from the ID of the hole where the idler bearing goes, easily remedied by using the correct bearing size.

Aside from that difference, can I use the 4 synchro housing on my 3 synchro box?

Thanks!
Morbo

Yes. I have done it. But check that the housing will fit over the outrigger bearing with both dowels fitted.
Dowel position varied a little over the years, I remember having to leave the lower dowel out on 2 boxes in my time. These parts were made before CNC machining was a thing.
