What special grease is used to install washers so they don't drop out whilst trying to replace the hinge.

elbow! though a bit of yellow or white grease might do it - something that won't be too ugly on the paint as it comes out

maybe I've held the washers and the hinge together and slipped all three in to place at the same time?

not sure I've ever used grease or anything to help, it's probably just one of those crappy jobs where you've gotta hold your tongue right and then when you wiggle your left big toe it slips into place

When I've run out of patience in the past, one drop of super glue to cleaned surfaces did the job.
