Post subject:  25D side entry dizzy cap

Hi, i have an old 25D distributor with a Lumenition ignition system in it. I want to put it in my Mini K. I have a side entry dizzy cap that i bought new about 25 years ago, problem is it doesnt have the screws to attach the leads in it. Does anyone know if you can buy just the screws, or could I make my own? I know I could just buy another cap with the screws but thought I would try and use the one I have.
A picture of one could be handy if anyone has one out of the cap.
Thanks,
Steve.

They look like this (but preferably without the rust)

I think you might be better off getting a new cap and hoping the screws are the same thread, or swapping to a top entry cap. Used screws might be another option if you can find some the same as yours that are still in decent shape

Screw from a new cap, purchased about 5 years ago. Cap is not marked with "Lucas" as per originals.
Thread is very similar to 4mm, but slightly smaller on the OD.
I would be looking for an old cap from an 850, deluxe or morris 1100 and pinching the correct screws so you can keep the original cap, assuming it has Lucas "cast' into it.

Thanks guys, great pics. The cap isnt marked lucas so originality isnt an issue. Lindsay Siebler has kindly offered to send me some screws so hopefully that should solve that issue. Just need to rebuild the dizzy, I dont think the vacuum advance is working.
thanks again for the help.
Steve
