Attachment: IMG_2314.jpeg Hello,I have the above Mini Copper which is fitted with NGK BPR6ES spark plugs and running on unleaded 95 petrol. I am looking to get a new set of plugs so I removed one of the plugs the other day which seems a little lean to me (see the attached photo), however maybe this is all correct for this Mini - also, are the NGK BPR6ES plugs correct for this model and if so, what gap should they have? Cheers |

BPR6ES are the correct plugs and the gap should be the standard 35 thou. I would suggest 98 unleaded The plug does look a little lean but you did not say whether it is a carb or injection. |

Injected I reckon, doesn't sound like it would have been converted to carb.. If it's just one of the plugs then I'd be thinking about a leak down test, those white deposits could be oil. Try a hotter plug - BPR5ES |

Thanks for the info. I'll try a new set of BPR6ES with a gap of 35 thou which is .889mm and see how she goes and I'll also try running on 98 unleaded as well, cheers |

Check your other plugs. It's not that uncommon for 2 cylinders to run leaner than the other two on an injected mini - particularly on early models and on later cars if the inlet manifold was replaced with an earlier design one, or incorrectly 'performance modified'. |
